How it all came to be…
BM History
When it all began…
Benno Larsen and Mogens Nørlem used their first name initials to create the name of the company they founded in 1977 – BM Autoteknik A/S.
Their vision was to design and manufacture the world’s first electronic roller brake tester with a load simulation system for trucks. This system was faster and more efficient than known systems. As such their aim was to set the industry standard and they succeeded.
First electronic brake tester
In 1979 the first electronic brake tester was introduced by BM.
Establishes factory in Møldrup
BM Autoteknik moves to Møldrup and during the 1980’s and early 1990’s the factory is expanded to the neighbouring premises.
Roller brake tester with load simulation
BM Autoteknik A/S was the first company in the world to introduce a roller brake tester for heavy vehicles, which can lift the roller bed hydraulically in order to establish load simulation. This was done in 1982 – decades before our competitors. The design of this brake tester has over the years been improved several times and is today available as model BM17200.
10 Years anniversary
The lightest mobile roller brake tester
In 1995 BM Autoteknik A/S introduced the lightest mobile roller brake tester for heavy vehicles, BM20200. This brake tester is uniquely designed with an operation height of only 16 cm, which requires only very short drive on/off ramps.
Due to use of the best materials available on the market, the weight of the brake tester can be as low as 1.200 kg and the brake tester can be manufactured to test vehicles up to 20 T axle weight.
Wins big order with “Statens Bilinspektion”
Bm Autoteknik wins an EU competitive tender for delivery of brake testers for to the Danish Vehicle Inspection “Statens Bilinspektion”. The order was the biggest single order in the history of the company until then.
20 years anniversary
Revolutionary chassis load simulation
In 2005 BM Autoteknik A/S introduced a revolutionary Chassis Load Simulation system with an optional axle load simulation integration. The system is technically superior with features not seen before on the market and hereby it seems, that BM Autoteknik A/S has once again been able to set the industry standard.
Wins VOSA/DVSA contract
The Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) awarded BM Autoteknik A/S the contract to supply vehicle testing equipment and inspection pits to all VOSA stations in England, Scotland and Wales.
Beside upgrading of vehicle testing equipment, the contract also included ongoing service and calibration over a 10-year period.
