BM CLS – Type D Chassis Load Simulation

BM CLS chassis load simulation - 3D illustration

The BM CLS – Type D chassis load simulation system consists of skates rolling on rails fitted to the floor of the inspection pit.

This system features a range of options that allows for a customized configuration.

OPTIONS

See also other BM load simulation systems: BM CLS – Type A, BM ALS, BM74000.
Advantages

  • The hydraulic cylinders stays on the chassis once fitted.
  • The operator can fully control the load application from his remote control unit from the vehicle cab.

Installation

  • The I-beams are concreted into the floor of the inspection pit.
  • Another I-beam is welded onto these.
  • CLS skates are then easily installed onto this top I-beam.
  • Hydraulic rams are fitted to the skates.
  • Retrofit into concrete pit with floor anchor bolts.

Principle of use

  1. The requested load on the axle being tested is entered via the remote control and the computer controlled CLS system is activated.
  2. The brake test of the axle is conducted.
  3. The load application is released via the remote control.
  4. The vehicle is driven forward to the next axle. The CLS skates stay on the chassis while the vehicle is being moved as the claws make sure the chains remain fixed to the chassis and the skates are smoothly being pulled forward rolling on the rails.
  5. The requested load on the next axle is entered vi the remote control, the load simulation is activated and the brake test is conducted.

All of this without the operator having to leave the cabin between test of axles.
